Meet Yue Yin

Meet Yue Yin, our HR intern who is studying Human Resource Management with Psychology at Republic Polytechnic. With Yue Yin’s internship coming to an end, we caught up with her to share her thoughts on her overall internship experience with ACP!

Q1: Can you share with us one fun fact about yourself?

  • I do taekwondo and I am currently a black tip in taekwondo. I am hoping for the COVID-19 situation to get better so I can take my black belt grading soon! ; and I love music & art!

Q2: How was the overall internship experience with ACP?

  • It was both unique and pleasant at the same time. Due to COVID-19, the majority of my internship period was work from home arrangement. Such an arrangement did not diminish my learning as I was able to successfully replicate the work to be done in the office, to be done at home. Credits to the HR Executive, Jason, as I was mentored and guided through solid communication channels on an everyday basis!

Q3: What are some of the key learning points during your internship with ACP?

  • I have learned to be adaptable and resilient in a corporate working environment whereby I adopted a never giving up spirit
  • In a fast-paced environment, I was also able to absorb and learn as much as I can which will only be helpful for me in my future career
  • I have also learned to manage and delegate my time well in accordance to the priority of the tasks. This contributed to the sharpening of my decision-making skills
  • All in all, my experiences gained have enabled me to become a better worker on a corporate level and a better person on an individual level

Q4: What are your key accomplishments during your internship with ACP?

  • Basics of recruitment – Job posting, evaluating resumes, and scheduling of interviews
  • Having a stake in the decision making process in shaping the active learning culture of the company – researching on the various educational courses that the company can utilize during the Circuit Breaker period for our morning kick-off sessions. The educational courses are split into bite-sized video-sharing sessions such as Time Management, and Being an Effective Teammate as part of the company’s efforts to work towards self-improvement in the workplace

Q5: How does your internship experience positively prepare you for the working world in the future?

  • It has equipped me with invaluable corporate experience and allowed me to understand more about workplace ethics and values I should hold as an HR Executive in the future

Q6: What message would you give to future interns at ACP?

  • To all HR Interns, seize every opportunity to contribute to ACP and be proactive in your job. I know you will be in good hands at ACP.
